And now, my son, I have shown thee everything, and the law of all the stars of the heaven is completed.

In those days Uriel answered and said to me, Behold, I have showed thee all things, O Enoch;

And now, my son Methuselah, I have showed you all things, and the whole law of the stars is completed.

And he showed me all the laws of these for every day, and for every season of bearing rule, and for every year, and for its going forth, and for the order prescribed to it every month and every week:

And all things have I revealed to thee. Thou seest the sun, the moon, and those which conduct the stars of heaven, which cause all their operations, seasons, and arrivals to return.

And he showed me all their laws for every day and for every time and for every government and for every year, and her departure, according to her order in each month and in every week ; 3. and the decrease of the moon, which takes place in the sixth portal, for in that sixth portal her light is completed, and from then there is the beginning of the month ; 4. also the decrease which takes place in the first portal, in its time, till one hundred and seventy-seven days are completed ; in the law of weeks, twenty-five weeks and two days ; 5. and how she tarries behind the sun and according to the law of the stars five days in one time exactly ; and when this place which thou dost see is THE BOOK OF ENOCH. 197 completed.

And the waning of the moon which takes place in the sixth portal: for in this sixth portal her light is accomplished, and after that there is the beginning of the waning:

In the days of sinners the years shall be shortened.

〈And the waning〉 which takes place in the first portal in its season, till one hundred and seventy-seven days are accomplished: reckoned according to weeks, twenty-five (weeks) and two days.

Their seed shall be backward in their prolific soil; and everything done on earth shall be subverted, and disappear in its season. The rain shall be restrained, and heaven shall stand still.

She falls behind the sun and the order of the stars exactly five days in the course of one period, and when this place which thou seest has been traversed.

In those days the fruits of the earth shall be late, and not flourish in their season; and in their season the fruits of the trees shall be withholden.

Such is the picture and sketch of every luminary which Uriel the archangel, who is their leader, showed unto me.

The moon shall change its laws, and not be seen at its proper period. But in those days shall heaven be seen; and barrenness shall take place in the borders of the great chariots in the west. *Heaven* shall shine more than *when illuminated by* the orders of light; while many chiefs among the stars of authority shall err, perverting their ways and works.
