And I saw till that in this manner thirty-five shepherds undertook the pasturing (of the sheep), and they severally completed their periods as did the first; and others received them into their hands, to pasture them for their period, each shepherd in his own period.

And now, my son Mathusala, call to me all thy brethren, and assemble for me all the children of thy mother; for a voice calls me, and the spirit is poured out upon me, that I may show you everything which shall happen to you for ever.

And I saw to the time when thirty-six shepherds thus pastured, and each one completed his time like the first ; and others received them in their hands to pasture them in their time, each shepherd in his own time.

And after that I saw in my vision all the birds of heaven coming, the eagles, the vultures, the kites, the ravens^a; but the eagles led all the birds; and they began to devour those sheep, and to pick out their eyes and to devour their flesh.

Then Mathusala went, called to him all his brethren, and assembled his kindred.

*Enoch* said, Hear, my children, every word of your father, and listen in uprightness to the voice of my mouth; for I would gain your attention, while I address you. My beloved, be attached to integrity, and walk in it.

Approach not integrity with a double heart; nor be associated with double-minded men: but walk, my children, in righteousness, which will conduct you in good paths; and be truth your companion.

For I know, that oppression will exist and prevail on earth; that on earth great punishment shall in the end take place; and that there shall be a consummation of all iniquity, which shall be cut off from its root, and every fabric *raised by* it shall pass away. Iniquity, however, shall again be renewed, and consummated on earth. Every act of crime, and every act of oppression and impiety, shall be a second time embraced.

When therefore iniquity, sin, blasphemy, tyranny, and every *evil* work, shall increase, and *when* transgression, impiety, and uncleanness also shall increase, *then* upon them all shall great punishment be inflicted from heaven.

But the sheep did not cry to them and did not hear what they said to them, but were exceedingly deaf, and their eyes exceedingly and powerfully blinded.

And I saw in the vision how the ravens flew upon those lambs and took one of those lambs, and dashed the sheep in pieces and devoured them.

In those days oppression shall be cut off from its roots, and iniquity with fraud shall be eradicated, perishing from under heaven.

And notwithstanding all this those eagles and vultures and ravens and kites still kept tearing the sheep and swooping down upon them and devouring them: still the sheep remained silent, but the rams lamented and cried out.

Every place of strength [^l2] shall be surrendered with its inhabitants; with fire shall it be burnt. They shall be brought from every part of the earth, and be cast into a judgment of fire. They shall perish in wrath, and by a judgment overpowering them [^l3] for ever.

And with all that those eagles and vultures and crows and buzzards to that time were tearing those sheep to pieces, and flew down on them and devoured them ; but the sheep remained quiet, and the bucks lamented and cried out.

And those ravens fought and battled with it and sought to lay low its horn, but they had no power over it. XC. 13-

Righteousness shall be raised up from slumber; and wisdom shall be raised up, and conferred upon them.

And those crows fought and battled with it and sought to remove that liorn, but had no power over it.

And I saw till the †shepherds and† eagles and those vultures and kites came, and †they cried to the ravens† that they should break the horn of that ram, and they battled and fought with it, and it battled with them and cried that its help might come.

Then shall the roots of iniquity be cut off; sinners perish by the sword; and blasphemers be annihilated everywhere. [^l1]

And I saw them till the shepherds and the eagles and those vultures and buzzards came, and they cried to those crows that they should break that horn of the buck ; and they fought and battled with it, and it fought with them and cried that its help might come to it.

And I saw till that man, who wrote down the names of the shepherds [and] carried up into the presence of the Lord of the sheep [came and helped it and showed it everything: he had come down for the help of that ram].

Those who meditate oppression, and those who blaspheme, by the sword shall perish. [^l2]

And now, my children, I will describe and point out to you the path of righteousness and the path of oppression.

And I saw till that Lord of the sheep came to them in anger, and all who saw him fled, and all fell into his shadow before his face.

All the eagles and vultures and ravens and kites were gathered together, and there came with them all the sheep of the field, yea, they all came together, and helped each other to break that horn of the ram.

I will again point them out to you, that you may know what is to come.

And I saw that man who had written the book by the voice of God till he opened that book of destruction wliicli those last twelve shepherds had practised, and showed that they had destroyed more than those before them, before the Lord of the sheep.

And I saw till the Lord of the sheep came unto them and took in His hand the staff of His wrath, and smote the earth, and the earth clave asunder, and all the beasts and all the birds of the heaven fell from among those sheep, and were swallowed up in the earth and it covered them. XC. 20-
